From the sunny shores of the Caribbean to the dark alleys and “tango joints” of Argentina, the Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens “Tribute to the Trees” Concert will provide a musical journey through the Americas, north and south.

“Rhythm del Rio” is the theme of the 20th anniversary concert featuring the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra with music director and conductor Benjamin Simon.

The benefit concert for the Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens is scheduled for June 19 and includes a catered alfresco supper.

The Gate will open at 4 p.m. with supper served at 5 p.m., followed by the concert which begins at 6:30 p.m.

A silent auction, raffle and full bar will be available.  Music by Bruno Grossi will accompany the social hour activities.

The $75 Concert Sponsor ticket includes reserved seating for both the supper and concert, commemorative wine glass and complimentary glass of wine.

Cost is $40 for the supper and concert; Botanical Gardens members play $35.

For the concert only, cost is $20 or $18 for Gardens members.

Guests may bring their own picnic supper.

This year’s concert is being held a week earlier than usual because the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra will be traveling to Turkey in July to participate in the International Festival of Youth Orchestras being held this summer in Istanbul.
