Today's News: Our Take - Andrew Rannells Leaving Girls
Apparently, Hannah's new roommate Elijahdoesn't work out too well. Andrew Rannells, who plays Elijah on Girls, is leaving the Lena Dunham comedy part way through the season.

In an interview with the The Huffington Post, Rannells revealed that filming Girls in New York and The New Normal in Los Angeles was too much of a good thing. "I'm the luckiest guy in the world that I had this opportunity to do both of these shows, and it does come down to a scheduling thing and a timing thing," Rannells said.
After getting into a huge fight with Marnie, Dunham's Hannah asks Elijah to move in with her in the Season 1 finale. But do to scheduling issues, Rannells will only appear in the first four episodes of the sophomore season, he revealed. The actor did promise that his character will go out with a bang, noting, "it felt like a very eventful season for Elijah."

With his role on Girls finished for now, Rannells will have more time to focus on The New Normal, the gay family comedy he stars on alongside Justin Bartha.
When asked whether he was sad about his abbreviated Girls stint, Rannells said, "Oh my God, yeah. I was completely heartbroken ... I mean, if I could be hanging out with Hannah all the time I would. So yes, I miss them terribly."
