Today's News: Our Take - VIDEO: Stephen Colbert Parodies "Accidental Racist" with Alan Cumming
As if he needed to further prove himself as an American treasure, Stephen Colbert has made on parody of "Accidental Racist."
On Wednesday's The Colbert Report, Colbert mocked the Brad Paisley-LL Cool J collaboration, which examines America's racial divide, by performing "Oopsie-Daisy Homophobe" with The Good Wife star Alan Cumming. Introducing the minute-and-a-half song, Colbert claimed it was written "in the hopes of bridging another deep cultural rift in America, the gay marriage divide.
Donning a white cowboy hat, Colbert crooned in a country singing voice, "To the man stretching next to me at the Crunch Gym down on Main, I hope you understand ... I'm just a straight man. I'm not trying to be rude when I see you kissing dudes."
Meanwhile, Cumming, dressed in a jean jacket, came out rapping: "Hey Mr. Straight Man, I wish you understood what it's like to live in the world when you look this good. It don't make me a freak that I brunch nine times a week. I'd love to buy you a mojito - gossip, clear the air. But I see your show each night, and I think you wish I wasn't clear."
