Today's News: Our Take - Box Office: The Butler Takes Top Spot, Jobs Bombs
Lee Daniels' The Butler, starring Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey, handily won the box office over the weekend, taking in $25 million. It performed the best out of all the new releases this weekend, while Jobs bombed and gave star Ashton Kutcherone of his worst opening weekends ever, Box Office Mojo reports.
Kick-Ass 2, at No. 4, had a disappointing opening, falling short of the original movie with $13.56 million.
The Steve Jobs biopic Jobs earned just $6.7 million and finished at No. 7.
