Today's News: Our Take - Saturday Night Live: How Did Bruce Willis Do as Host?
Bruce Willis returned to Studio 8H this weekend to host Saturday Night Live for the first time since 1989. "If you had told me back then there were going to be six Die Hards, I would have said, 'That seems a little too many,'" he quipped during his opening monologue. (Later, cast member Bobby Moynihan joked that he and Willis previously worked together in Look Who's Talking, when he played the baby.)
So, how did Willis do as host? Check out some of the best sketches below.
NASA Shutdown Cold Open: In this hilarious opener, which parodies the movieGravity, Kenan Thompson plays a janitor who's apparently the only NASA worker deemed "essential" during the government shutdown. Will he be able to successfully guide the lost astronauts back to earth?
24 Hour Energy Drink: Are you dating an actress? Then you might need a few extra doses of energy to deal with her emotions (and latest off-Broadway performances) on a daily basis.
Black Ops: Demonstrating that he isn't afraid to poke a little fun at the action movie hero characters he so frequently plays, here Willis plays a soldier who doesn't quite grasp his role in the mission to take down terrorist Al-Hafar.
Boy Dance Party: What do a group of football-loving guys get up to when their wives and girlfriends go out dancing? Having their own dance party, of course. Sometimes you just need to get down with your boys.
