Today's News: Our Take - Top Videos: Shmuck Dynasty, Russian Police Sing "Get Lucky," Fake "30 For 30"
This week, Billy Crystal revealed the little-known true origins of Duck Dynasty in an interview with Jimmy Fallon, while Jimmy Kimmel hosted "Modern Family Feud" with the young cast members of Modern Family. Yahoo! released a spoof of ESPN's 30 for 30 about the basketball game in Space Jam, Scott Porter took TVGuide.com on a tour of the Hart of Dixie set, and a Russian police choir sang Daft Punk's "Get Lucky." Check out those clips and more in our weekly roundup of the best online videos:
30 for 30: The Space Jam Game: ESPN's documentary series 30 for 30 has focused on topics like great sports rivalries and epic championships, but now it gets the mockumentary treatment with this short from Yahoo's web series "Sketchy." The parody focuses on the final matchup between the Tune Squad and the Monstars in the classic 1996 film Space Jam.
"Beat Making Lab" music video: The "Beat Making Lab" project takes student-musicians to developing nations around the world, where they set up studios using equipment that literally fits into a backpack, and record music with local talent. The web series' finale, featuring a music video they made in Ethiopia, was released this week, but you can check out earlier installments here.
Jimmy Fallon and Billy Crystal in Shmuck Dynasty: Billy Crystal is a fan of Duck Dynasty, but he's also slightly resentful. Why? He claims the A&E series ripped off a concept he and his family originated years ago. Check it out below:
Modern Family Feud: Jimmy Kimmel pitted the boys and girls of Modern Family - Nolan Gould, Ariel Winter, Sarah Hyland, Rico Rodriguez and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons - against each other in a Family Feud-style game.
Grumpy Cat goes to Disneyland: Disneyland: it's the place where dreams come true. Unless you're Grumpy Cat, in which case it's more of a nightmare. (via Tubefilter)
Russian Police "Get Lucky": Russian policemen have a pretty stressful job, so how do they unwind when they're not on the clock? Well, some join the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Choir, which this week covered Daft Punk's "Get Lucky." Awkward dance moves abound.
