Mount Shasta artist Lynda Hardy creating a reproduction of Vermeer's Girl With A Pearl Earring for the 4th annual Forgery Show, on display April 1 to 30, 2016 in downtown Mount Shasta.

The 4th annual Forgery Show, a collection of reproductions in oil of world-renown masterworks, will open Friday, April 1 at Snow Creek Studios in Mount Shasta.

The paintings, completed by 20 ArtRoster artists who are students of painter Aleksander Balos, will represent works by Hopper, Picasso, Sargent, Van Gogh, Vermeer, and others.

The artists meet weekly with Balos, who utilizes techniques from the Old Masters’ atelier system of the European classical and impressionistic painting schools, as well as more contemporary methods, according to a press release.

The show will run through Saturday, April 30, with a closing reception scheduled for Friday, April 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Snow Creek Studios, during Mount Shasta’s 4th Friday Art Walk.
