It's been two and a half months since the San Francisco Giants swept the Detroit Tigers to win the 2012 World Series, and on Saturday, local fans will have the chance to join in the celebration.

Both the 2012 championship trophy and the 2010 trophy will be on display at the Mount Shasta City Park's upper lodge from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday, Jan. 12. Accompanying them will be 1999 Weed High School graduate Nick Zanotto, who is now the senior manager of New Sales and Service for the Giants. This will be Zanotto's fifth season with the organization.

The visit is part of a tour that began in Sacramento on Tuesday and will conclude on April 5 at AT&T Park for the Giants' first home game of the season against the St. Louis Cardinals.

A professional photographer will be on hand to capture memories that can be purchased on the San Francisco Giants website. People are also welcome to bring their own camera for limited photo opportunities.

The event is free, but there is a suggested donation of $2 which will go to the Mount Shasta Junior Giants program.

In 2010, more than 200 dedicated Giants fans braved deep snow to see the championship trophy when it visited the City Park on March 20.

"The focus of the San Francisco World Championship Trophy Tour presented by Bank of America is to share Major League Baseball's Commissioner's trophy, crafted by Tiffany & Co., with Giants fans in Junior Giants communities throughout northern California," according to a press release from the Giants.

Mount Shasta has participated in the Junior Giants program since 1995, when Mount Shasta Recreation and Parks District Administrator Mike Rodriguez was invited to check out the program. Already an avid Giants fan, Rodriguez liked what he saw and soon began the program's northernmost league in California.

Junior Giants is the flagship program of the Giants Community Fund, which serves more than 20,000 boys and girls in 80 underserved communities throughout northern and central California and southern Oregon. It is a free and non-competitive baseball program that promotes confidence and leadership and a strong understanding of the importance of literacy and healthy living.

Each year, tickets are provided so Junior Giants players and their families can enjoy a game at AT&T Park.

"It was really important to our organization to create a trophy tour which allowed us to connect with our fans and the more than 20,000 kids who participate in our Junior Giants baseball program," said Larry Baer, Giants president and chief operating officer.

The trophies will be transported in a 2013 Sequoia Limited courtesy of Toyota. The tour is sponsored by Bank of America.

The public tour began in Sacramento on Jan. 8, with stops in Chico, Los Molinos, Redding, Mount Shasta, Richmond, Vallejo, Daly City, Redwood City, Antioch, Porterville, Fresno, Reedley/Sanger, San Francisco, Merced, Los Banos, Lompoc, San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Salinas, Gilroy, Morgan Hill, Modesto, Atwater, Willits, Lake County, Livermore, Live Oak/Santa Cruz, Stockton, San Jose (benefitting Santa Clara Junior Giants), East Palo Alto, Tracy, South San Francisco, San Bruno, San Mateo, San Rafael, Medford, Ore. and Reno, Nev. The 2012 trophy will also make stops in New York City, returning to the team's roots, and Scottsdale, Ariz., the club's spring training home.
