Mount Shasta's first Snowflake Festival includes TuTu Relay

Mount Shasta’s first Snowflake Festival has been scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12 from noon to 5 p.m. in the downtown business district.

The event includes a Tutu Relay Race (or your best costume); a Best Chili Cook-Off; and a “Pray for Snow” bonfire.

Register for the Tutu Relay Race as an individual, family or team by calling contacts listed at the end of this article or register on race day.

Registration fee for the Best Chili Cook-Off is $25. All you can taste tickets are $5.

Winter beverages will be sold and there will be cider tasting.

A snowshoe relay is planned, along with a snowman knockdown contest, unwrap kisses with mittens and penguin walk – weave in out of cones.

Proceeds will be donated to locally supported organizations.

Chili Cook-Off awards will be presented to the top three contestants in veggie and meat categories.
