Easter events in the Mt. Shasta area

Egg hunters in McCloud enjoyed visiting with the Easter Bunny during the annual event put on by McCloud Community Recreation Council on April 8, 2017 at Hoo Hoo Park. Four more Mt. Shasta area Easter egg hunts are scheduled for Saturday, April 15: in Mount Shasta at 10 a.m. at the city park, in Lake Shastina at Hoy Park at 10 a.m., in Weed at Shasta View Estates from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and at the Ball Park in Dunsmuir from 10 a.m. to noon.

The following Easter events are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, April 15 and 16, 2017, in the Mt. Shasta area:

Saturday, April 15

• See’s Easter candy – Mercy Mt. Shasta Auxiliary has See’s Easter candy bunnies and eggs. The Gift Shop is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mercy Medical Center in Mount Shasta. For more information call 926-7147.

• Elks Easter egg hunt – Mount Shasta Elks Lodge No. 2333 will host its 45th annual Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 10 a.m. sharp at the Mount Shasta City Park. For toddlers and kids up to age 10. Donations are appreciated. Mail to: Mount Shasta Elks Lodge No. 2333, 326 N. Mt. Shasta Blvd., Mount Shasta, CA 96067. Donations can also be picked up by calling 530-926-2138 or 530-926-4768.

• Lake Shastina egg hunt – Lake Shastina Easter Egg Hunt for age groups 1-10 will be held at Hoy Park in Lake Shastina. The Easter Bunny arrives at 10 a.m.

• Shasta View egg hunt – Shasta View Estates annual Easter Egg Hunt takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 445 Park Street in Weed. The egg hunt starts at 1 p.m. promptly. Includes games, face painting, and special prizes. Hot dog, chips and drink available for $2.

• Dunsmuir egg hunt – Toddlers to ten-year-olds in Dunsmuir will get a chance to hunt for Easter eggs at the Dunsmuir Ball Park from 10 to noon on Saturday, April 15. Put on by the Chamber of Commerce and Dunsmuir Rotary, inside activities for the kids will start at 10 a.m. in the Recreation and Parks District Center. Following activities there will be an egg hunt at the ball park. About 1,500 eggs will be filled with candy and prizes and the kids will have a chance to win a bike or a tricycle.

Sunday, April 16

• Easter service – Begins at 11:15 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 312 W. Alma Street in Mount Shasta. There will be a special sermon and the church choir will perform.

• Easter celebration – A Celebration of Easter takes place at the Hope Community Church, 974 Lassen Lane in Mount Shasta. Easter breakfast is served at 9 a.m.; followed by adult Sunday School at 10 a.m.; children’s activities, Easter worship/Children’s Church begin at 10:45 a.m. For more information call 926-2847.

• Resurrection event – Deeper understanding of resurrection and direct experience of resurrection energies as taught by Sananda/Jesus through Eterna (recording). A free event held from 10 to 11:45 a.m. at the University of Mt. Shasta, 510 N. Mt. Shasta Blvd. in Mount Shasta. For more information contact shastaconnections@gmail.com.
