Memorial Day ceremony at Sculpture Garden

The Memorial Day Service at the Living Memorial Sculpture Garden will be held this Sunday, May 25 at 2 p.m. LMSG is located on Highway 97, one mile north of Road A12 on the west side.

The main speaker is Master Sergeant Duane E. Stacher of the US Army National Guard. Master of Ceremonies is Dean Whetstine, Commander, US Navy, Retired.

There will be special patriotic music presented by Clarence Barger, who will also sing “The Star Spangled Banner.” Scottish Bagpiper Dave Alexander will open and close the ceremony.

The invocation will be given by LMSG Board Vice-President Robert Menzies. Pastor Keith Chilson of the Weed Assembly of God Church will give the benediction.

The Marine Corps League, Siskiyou Detachment 936 will present the colors and give the gun salute. John Kessler will play “Taps.”

Added to the Hot LZ Memorial Wall are the names of 54 honorably discharged veterans. Their names will be read and dedicated at this service.

The service will proceed ran or shine. Those attending should be chairs for seating.
