Siskiyou Dance Company on stage Friday and Saturday night
The Siskiyou Dance Company’s 2016 show titled, “Into the Woods,” has been scheduled for Friday and Saturday, June 3 and 4 beginning at 6 p.m. at the College of the Siskiyous Kenneth Ford Theater in Weed.
The show is based on the imaginations of children at play. The dancers and actors are from all around Siskiyou County, ages 3 and up.
It will feature choreography by Rena Moll, ballet, modern, hip-hop; Patc Dawson and Leanne Jopson, tap teachers; Christian DeLeon, hip-hop teacher; Noa Traylor, hip-hop teacher; as well as some special solos and duets from Moll, DeLeon, Traylor, and others.
General admission is $12. Tickets are available at the door or in advance at Village Books in Mount Shasta; The Weed Store and Dawson’s Wreath Barn in Weed.
Rena Moll was born and raised in Mount Shasta and is the owner and director of Siskiyou Dance Company. She has 29 years of dance experience and has danced for Ballet Magnificat, Ballet Mississippi, and Ad Deum Dance Company.
Moll has 11 years experience teaching ballet, modern, lyrical, jazz, and hip-hop to dancers of all ages. After 30-plus years of teaching, Tana Macy the founder of Siskiyou Dance Company, retired in 2013 and handed the business over to Moll.
