Reese Witherspoon Cancels Late Night, GMA Appearances Following Arrest
In the wake of her arrest, Reese Witherspoon has decided to cancel appearances on two talk shows.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Witherspoon was set to appear on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday to promote her upcoming film Mud, but decided to cancel that appearance, as well as promoting Mud at the film's New York press junket Monday. Additionally, The Washington Post reports that she also pulled out of taping a segment Monday for Good Morning America that would air Wednesday.
Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth were pulled over in Atlanta Friday night after an officer noticed Toth weaving in and out of lanes, according to reports. Witherspoon allegedly ignored the arresting officer's instructions for her to stay in the car and told him, "Do you know my name? You're about to find out who I am. ... You are going to be on national news." She was then arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. The Oscar-winning actress released a statement Monday expressing her embarrassment and apologizing for her behavior.
Do you think Witherspoon made the right decision in canceling her appearances?
