2 Guns Takes the Top Spot at the Weekend Box Office

2 Guns came out blazing this weekend, taking the top spot at the box office, according to Box Office Mojo. The buddy flick starring Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington grossed $27.4 million in its opening weekend.
Coming in at the No. 2 spot was last week's winner The Wolverine with $21.7 million. The X-Men spin-off has grossed $254 million worldwide.

The Smurfs 2, which opened this weekend, brought in $18.2 million to take the third spot. Closely following behind was The Conjuring with $13.7 million.

In the fifth spot was Despicable Me 2, which made $10.4 million in its fifth week of release. Turbowas right behind with $6.4 million.
Rounding out the Top 10: Red 2 (No. 7, $5.7 million), The Heat (No. 8, $4.7 million), The Way, Way Back (No. 9, $2.9 million) and Fruitvale Station (No. 10, $2.7 million).
