Public schools in the greater Rochester region were recently ranked sixth among metros with populations greater than one million by Expansion Management magazine, a widely used resource by executives when analyzing prospective facility locations.

In its 16th annual survey, the magazine evaluated 2,800 school districts to identify regions with the best overall public school systems.

The ranking allows executives to compare the type of workforce they are likely to encounter in various areas throughout the country.

Dennis M. Mullen, president and CEO of Greater Rochester Enterprise, said rankings like this give the Rochester region a competitive advantage.

“The area’s high-quality secondary schools and world-class universities ensure that Rochester will continually have a highly skilled and innovative work force.” Mullen said.
