Feds to hold regional LNG hearings
As Weaver’s Cove Energy officials move forward with a plan to construct an offshore berthing facility, the federal agency responsible for permitting the project will come to the region to hear public comments on the proposal.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission will hold meetings on June 24 and 25 to address the environmental aspects of the proposed project.
Both meetings will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., with the first taking place at the Mount Hope High School auditorium, 199 Chestnut St., Bristol, RI. The second meeting will be held at the Venus de Milo Restaurant, 75 Grand Army Highway, Swansea.
According to the notice of intent for the meetings, FERC “will use the (Environmental Impact Statement) in its decision-making process to determine whether or not to authorize the project.”
