South Shore Habitat to host another fundraiser

On the heels of a successful benefit concert last month—highlighted by Stoughton’s own country music star Lori McKenna—South Shore Habitat for Humanity continues to move forward in its quest to build three homes in Stoughton.

“Getting the word out really helped,” said Denise Lochiatto, Outreach Coordinator for the local Habitat for Humanity committee. Habitat raised nearly $10,000 from the concert, Lochiatto said.

Habitat will host its second annual fundraising dinner Friday, June 20 at Club Luiz de Camoes at 76 Porter St. from 7-11 p.m.

Last year, Habitat raised $1,600 at the dinner, but Lochiatto and Habitat’s team of volunteers are looking to best that total this year. The club can hold 200 people. Last year, 80 people came to the dinner, Lochiatto said.
