Video: MCC protest hits the streets

Monroe Community College faculty and staff have no confidence in their Board of Trustees and made it very clear for anyone driving past the school’s main entrance on Brighton-Henrietta Town Line Road Thursday evening.

Numerous cars honked while passing, seeming to agree with about 40 faculty and staff that picketed in a formal protest against the board and the alleged political influence on its search for the school’s next president.

John Wadach, a professor who also runs the Do The Right Thing MCC Web site, joined Bess Watts of the Civil Service Employees Association to organize the protest.

“We wanted to take our fight outside of the confines of the campus and bring it out to where the public can see what our issue was here,” said Wadach.
