Brief: Another conviction in fraud scheme at Massport
Another Boston longshoreman has been convicted of charges related to a wage and benefits fraud scheme at the Massachusetts Port Authority’s Conley terminal in South Boston.
A Suffolk Superior Court jury on Thursday convicted Richard Flaherty of South Boston of fraud in procuring government services and submitting false entries in corporate books, according to Attorney General Martha Coakley’s office. Flaherty was accused of putting his 12-year-old daughter on a union time sheet. Flaherty is among 20 defendants who were indicted in August 2006.
