Siskiyou Golden Fair CEO Rebecca Desmond announced the morning of Aug. 7 that Clay Walker had cancelled his appearance at the fair that night.

According to Desmond, Walker’s wife delivered their baby two weeks early and he had flown back to Houston, Texas to be with his wife, cancelling his appearances in Oregon on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. He had originally intended to fly to Yreka on Thursday but decided late last night to stay with his wife and new son instead.

The new line-up for the concert will be Clay Walker’s band, featuring their keyboard player on vocals, opening for Steve Holy, the other act on the concert line-up. Current concert ticket holders are being offered a full or partial refund for their tickets as follows:

• Ticket holders wishing to see Steve Holy will receive a $20 refund for box seat or dress circle tickets or a $17 refund for a reserved grandstand ticket.

• Ticket holders wishing to receive a full refund and not attend the concert will receive the full value of their tickets – $38 for box seats and dress circle and $33 for reserved grandstand.

• Tickets must be turned in at the box office to receive a refund.

• Any free tickets (won on the radio.

The fair will begin making refunds at the box office at the front gate beginning at 10 a.m.

“We certainly are frustrated by this situation and ask for everyone’s patience,” Desmond said. “We are looking forward to a great night with Steve Holy and all the other wonderful things to see and participate in at the 2008 Siskiyou Golden Fair.”
