Three more Illini jerseys honored
National players of the year Ray Woods and Chuck Carney and first-team All-American Bill Hapac will have their basketball jerseys displayed above the Assembly Hall court, the school announced Thursday.
Woods, of Evanston, was a three-time All-American selection from 195-17. Carney, another Evanston product, earned the player of the year award in 1922. Hapac was a first-team All-America as a senior in 1940.
They joined guards Deron Williams, Dee Brown and Luther Head as players announced for the honor. A total of 20 players will be honored, beginning on Sept. 13 at the Night of Legends alumni game at Assembly Hall.
