Woman arrested for trying to get prescription meds

A Camdenton woman was arrested for trying to obtain prescription pain medication with forged discharge papers from Lake Regional Hospital.

According to information provided by the Osage Beach Department of Public Safety, Rebecca Coleman, 31, was arrested Tuesday. Police said Coleman had been released from the hospital and had received a prescription for a mild pain killer and discharge papers prior to leaving the emergency room.

She allegedly altered the hospital’s discharge papers and tried to obtain Percocet from HyVee. She told the pharmacist she had lost the script for her prescription. After she was declined by the pharmacy, she went back to the hospital and attempted to pass the forged document there.

Coleman was taken to the Camden County Jail, charged with fradulent attempt to obtain a controlled substance. Her bond has been set at $7,500.
