Canton Animal Control warns of coyotes

Canton Animal Control officials are stressing that people keep their pets indoors, as there is a coyote presence throughout the town.

“We’ve had a lot of calls,” said animal control officer Paul Bastable. He added the animals most threatened by coyotes are cats, but noted small dogs are also vulnerable to attacks.

Bastable said some people try to fence their animals in outdoors but said coyotes have the ability “to climb a six-foot fence.”
