Word of the Day
Cumshaw KUM-shaw (noun) Present, gratuity; also bribe, payoff -- www.merriam-webster.com
Web Site of the Day
The Darwin Awards
This is a slightly morbid Web site, but it’s also amusing. The Darwin Awards celebrate “those who improve the species by accidentally removing themselves from it.” In other words, this is a collection of tales of people who do things so stupid, it’s no wonder they’re dead (like the drunken Pole who cut off his own head to prove he was a man).
Number to Know
837,000: One of the estimates of the number of men at the Million Man March in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 16, 1995. That estimate is from the Center for Remote Sensing at Boston University. March organizers estimated between 1.5 million and 2 million, while the U.S. Park Police said only 400,000 were there.
