Beginner's Box: Treat your hot dog well

Many hot-dog aficionados consider mustard and ketchup together as a sign of ignorance, like wearing a yellow sock and a red sock.

It’s either one or the other, and you put it on the hot dog, never the bun. And while you’re at it, grill the dogs and steam-heat the buns.

Then again, if you like mustard and ketchup, boiled wieners and day-old buns, ignore the self-proclaimed experts and just do it in the privacy of your own home.
