'Jerry Springer: The Opera' a funny original

If you are offended by four-letter words strung into operatic passages, images of New Testament figures parading their insecurities on stage, and God, in person, dressed as Elvis in sequins and billowing clouds of cape, you’d best stop reading here. However, despite these lapses in taste, “Jerry Springer-The Opera,” based on the infamous TV-talk show starring you-know-who and currently in its New England premiere at the Boston Center for the Arts, is one of the most refreshingly original and genuinely funny theatrical productions of the young 21st century.
