Illinois tennis: Women fall to Fresno State in second round of NCAAs

One day after winning an NCAA Tournament match for the first time in six years, the Illinois women's tennis team fell 4-3 to 16th-seeded Fresno State 4-3 in second round play at the Khan Outdoor Complex on Sunday.

The loss ended Illinois' season with a 19-8 record.

The match against the Bulldogs (24-5) went down to the final singles battle. Fresno State won the decisive battle at No. 3 singles with a 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 victory from Renata Kucerkova over Chelcie Abajian.
