Editorial: To clean up Blago’s mess, lather, rinse, bleep’n repeat

We’re getting to the roots of the problem with Illinois politics.

A suburban Chicago company is marketing “Blago It’s Bleep’n Golden,” a shampoo and conditioner inspired by former Gov. Rod Blagojevich. It’s available at blagohair.com.

Blagojevich’s hairdo has been fodder for many a late-night comedian’s jokes after his arrest in December, during impeachment proceedings earlier this year and during multiple television appearances.

A December story in the Chicago Sun-Times had psychologists saying Blagojevich’s hair might be a sign of narcissistic personality disorder.

We’re sure the purpose of the shampoo is to give your hair body and an extra clean feel. However, we can’t help but think anything associated with Blagojevich would be oily, greasy and slimy.

Perhaps the shampoo will serve a greater purpose. Perhaps, as the old song goes, it can help us “wash that man right out of my hair and send him on his way!”

Maybe Illinois would be better off if its politicians were bald.
