Online calendar in-house promo adin Quark and Adobe InDesign

Featured to your right are two versions of the Online Calendar ads that can be used in your print products to encourage readers to use your searchable online calendar and submit events using the calendar forms your Web site. These should run in print once your calendar is up and running on your Web site. We are rolling out the calendar in the next few weeks.

Note: Space is dedicated in the ad for papers to fill in their Web site address.

If you have any questions about this feature, please contact David Arkin, director of newsroom development at darkin@gatehousemedia.com.

The Quark ad is available in versions 4, 6 and 7. The InDesign ads is available in versions CS, CS2 and CS3. The end of each filename indicates the version (For example, family_ad_ghns_6.qxd is for Quark 6, etc.)

FONTS FOR QUARK & INDESIGN FILES

This link will allow you to download fonts used with this page. Each newspaper should install the fonts on no more than three workstations. We recommend: Two workstations that the pages are produced on and a station where negatives and/or plates are produced.

Once you click on the link, the fonts will land on your desktop. Once there, doubleclick the icon to access the folder. The fonts will be inside the folder. You will need to install these fonts where your current fonts are located.

For most Mac OS 9 platforms, your fonts will be located inside the the Font folder inside the System folder on your hard drive. You will need to quit, then restart all open applications. If you have questions about how to do this, feel free to get in touch with us.

Once you have downloaded the fonts and installed them on your computer, you do not have to install them again.

(These are open type fonts, which should work on PC and Mac platforms. For computers running Mac OS 8.6 to 9.x must install ATM 4.6 (adobe type manager) first, which can be downloaded free here.)

If you encounter any technical difficulties with the pages, please e-mail Danielle Torricelli at jdobbins@gatehousemedia.com.
