Tuesday was not a typical school day for Duxbury seventh-grader Tyler Hutchinson.

The 12-year-old Duxbury middle school student was picked up at his house in a limousine by New England Patriots running back Laurence Maroney and driven to school along with his father Scott, and younger brother Garrett, 10, and sister Gabrielle, 6, where he was greeted by a crowd of students awaiting his arrival with the football star.

“This was so cool,” Tyler said. “He’s an amazing person, a fun athlete, and great to be around.”

Tyler was the winner of the “NFL Take a Player to School” sweepstakes presented by the JCPenny Afterschool Fund. The sweepstakes selects one winner in each of the 32 NFL markets and two non-NFL markets.
