Illini's Benn to announce he's entering NFL draft
Illinois junior wide receiver Arrelious Benn will announce Wednesday afternooon that he is leaving the program and entering the NFL draft, sources said. Benn has called a 2 p.m. press conference at Memorial Stadium.
According to ESPN's Todd McShay, Benn is the third-ranked receiver behind Oklahoma State's Dez Bryant and Notre Dame's Golden Tate. Benn is ranked No. 33 overall on Scout.com list of draft prospects.
Benn caught 38 passes for 490 yards and two touchdowns this past season while playing with a bothersome ankle under a new offensive coordinator. He finished his career with 159 catches for 2,221 yards and seven touchdowns.
