Pilot's body found near Happy Camp

The body of a pilot suspected to be 84 year old Medford resident Alonzo "Lonie" Edward Mullin was found in an area near Titus Ridge outside of Happy Camp on Tuesday, May 25.

The Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office reported that volunteers from its Search and Rescue unit located the remains of the pilot near where the aircraft engine was found on Sunday.

DNA testing will be used to confirm the identity, according to a Sheriff's Office release.

The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office previously reported that it initially responded after receiving a report of a possible airplane crash from the Federal Aviation Administration at about 1:48 p.m. Saturday, May 22.
