Redshirt freshman quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase expects to wear the red jersey when Illinois scrimmages at Rantoul High School on Saturday in the annual event that's open to the public.

Admission and parking are free. Concessions are also available. The action starts at 6:30 p.m. and includes live team drills, red zone, two-minute drill and some special teams. Scheelhaase expected to wear red that keeps him off limits to contact, like other quarterbacks in past Rantoul scrimmages.

"We get fired up for that,'' he said. "It's our last big hurrah before the season. We haven't gone live too much in team (drills). It will be a fun scrimmage for us.

"Unless there are any changes, I'll be in the red jersey.''

Coordinators Paul Petrino (offense) and Vic Koenning (defense) aren't expected to show off all of the playbook, but there's the opportunity to watch Scheelhaase, the return of linebacker Martez Wilson from a neck injury, the development of the receivers and question marks at defensive tackle and safety.
