A fishing boat that was swept to sea in the Japan tsunami one year ago was sunk by the U.S. Coast Guard today as the vessel neared Alaska. The ship was a hazard to other boats, and it would have been too costly to salvage the Japanese boat, officials said. No one was on board the ship.

"We stand by these actions as editorially justified and in the public interest. We do not take such decisions lightly or frequently." - John Ryley, head of Sky News in England, admitting that the company allowed journalists to hack into emails on two occasions.
