Look ahead

- Monday is Memorial Day. What are you planning? A barbecue with family and friends? Whatever you do, take time to observe a moment of silence at 3 p.m. local time – that’s the national moment of remembrance, and the reason we observe this holiday.

- The new movies out this week are “Snow White and the Huntsman,” a PG-13 fantasy starring Kristen Stewart; “Piranha 3DD,” an R comedy-horror film; and “Battlefield America,” a PG-13 drama.

- Tuesday is the birthday of President John F. Kennedy. Kennedy was born May 29, 1917, and became the youngest elected president at age 43 (Theodore Roosevelt was the youngest president ever, however).

Video to note: New video of “The Dark Knight Rises” released by Warner Brothers

“The Dark Knight Rises,” starring Christian Bale, Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway, hits theaters this July, and two new television spots have been released to hold us over. In the new video, fans can get more glimpses of Bain, Batman and Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman. Gillian Pensavalle is certain that director Christopher Nolan won't disappoint.
