The City of Mt. Shasta Public Works Department will be chip sealing several city streets on Friday, July 27 and Saturday, July 28. A fog seal coat will be applied to the same streets a couple of weeks later on August 10.

Crews have already begun preparation for this project which includes blowing cracks with compressed air, filling in the cracks with material, street sweeping, and pothole patching. No Parking signs will be placed as a reminder prior to the start of chip seal and fog seal operations.

The following streets will be affected:

North A Street, North B Street, North C Street, Russell, Orem, Hercules, Sarah Bell, Lennon, Kylynn Court, Loveta, and South Mt. Shasta Boulevard from approximately Bear Springs Road to the I-5/89 interchange.

The City is asking that all vehicles be moved off these streets from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the specified dates, and that sprinkler systems be adjusted or turned off so the street does not get wet.

Drivers can expect temporary Interstate 5 off ramp closures and minor delays as traffic control will be required. Please observe construction signs, detours, and flagmen instructions to prevent damage to your vehicle and to ensure the safety of workers.

If you have any questions, you may call City Hall at (530) 926-7510.
