Today in the news: Michael Phelps finishes solo career a winner
News to know
Michael Phelps already became the most decorated Olympian in history during the 2012 London Games. Now he’s starting to put some distance between himself and everybody else, as he won another gold medal in the 100-meter butterfly, the last solo race of his career. The triumph gives Phelps 21 medals overall, with 17 of them being gold. It’s a resume no other athlete that has ever competed at the Olympics can match, leaving future generations to try and chase him down. Phelps has one last team race before he retires.
