Hot video: Former Congressional candidate is a sore loser

Quote of note

"Our government has built up too much debt. Our economy is not producing enough jobs. These are not separate problems. At $16 trillion and rising, our national debt is draining free enterprise and weakening the ship of state. The American Dream is in peril so long as its namesake is weighed down by this anchor of debt. Break its hold, and we begin to set our economy free." - Rep. John Boehner, recently re-eleceted as speaker of the House, in his first speech to the 113th Congress.

News to know

Sandy Hook Elementary students returned to school today for the first time since the shooting that killed 20 children and six adults, Yahoo News reports. The students will attend Chalk Hill School, seven miles from their former school building. In an attempt to have students return to their routine, Chalk Hill has been renamed Sandy Hook and classrooms were made as similar as possible to ones students remember from before the shooting, including the position of crayons on their desks. Parents were welcome to attend school with students, though school officials requested that only one parent or guardian per child attend. Police were on hand to direct traffic, but uniformed officer presence was kept to a minimum in keeping with officials' desire to have the students return to their normal school routine.
