A record executive wants to have Birmingham International Airport renamed for Ozzy Osbourne. Jim Simpson, head of Big Bear Music, proposed the idea after plans for a Black Sabbath Day stalled. Birmingham reportedly hopes to market itself as a music destination for tourists. And, as Simpson told the Brimingham Mail, "Ozzy might not always have been a paragon of virtue, but he is a genuine flesh and blood Brummie." If the airport is renamed, it will join Liverpool John Lennon Airport in a very small group of UK airports named for musicians.
