Authorities are investigating the suspicious death of 89 year old Seiad Valley resident Walter Robinson, Jr., who was found deceased Saturday afternoon at the edge of his property near shrubs and bushes.

There were no obvious signs of trauma, according to Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Allison Giannini, however, due to the location where Robinson was found, the death is being investigated as suspicious.

The Sheriff’s office received a report from Robinson’s son at around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, Giannini said. The son reported he went to visit but found no sign of his father. However, newspapers were in Robinson’s driveway and the home was unlocked.

Sheriff’s deputies conducted a search and Robinson was subsequently located.
