The Siskiyou County Sheriff's Department is searching for a Portland, Ore. woman near Skeahan Bar River Access on Highway 96 after a deputy found evidence that may indicate she is injured or in danger.

The deputy first made contact with Grace Elan Sabots, age 27, at about 8:35 a.m. on Saturday, March 1 while investigating an abandoned vehicle, a light blue 1989 Toyota Corolla, approximately 15 miles west of State Route 263.

At that time, the deputy described the woman in good health, according to a press release from the Sheriff's Department. Sabots was alone at the time.

The deputy discovered this vehicle in the same area later in the day and stopped to

check on her. As he began to look for Sabots, he located evidence that indicated she may be either injured or in danger, the report states.

The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department's Search and Rescue Team responded along with a California Highway Patrol helicopter.

Sabots has blue eyes, blond hair, is 5 foot 3 inches tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds.

The Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone with information about Sabots’ location or those who may have seen her to call dispatch at (530) 841-2900.
