The four finalists being considered for the position of College of the Siskiyous Superintendent/President are scheduled to participate in public forums April 3 and 4 on the Weed campus.

Selected by a search committee from a group of 10 semi-finalists, the finalists are Farley Herzek, Nathan Church, current interim president Robert Frost, and David Smith.

The forums, according to a COS press release, are one of the final steps in the selection process and are open to students, faculty, staff and community members.

On Thursday, April 3 Smith is scheduled to speak at 1:55 p.m., followed by Frost at 3 p.m.

On Friday, April 4, Herzek will speak at 1:55 p.m., Church at 3 p.m.

Candidates will have the opportunity to share their visions for the college and answer questions from audience members.

The college says it plans a future release that will include detailed biographies of the finalists.

Dr. Frances White, a consultant with Community College Search Services, was hired by the Siskiyou Joint Community College District to recruit potential candidates for the position. Over the last 12 years, according to the release, CCSS has conducted more than 150 searches for community college executives.

Of the 29 candidates recruited for the COS position, the release states that 18 met the minimum qualifications. A 14-member search committee comprised of district employees, community members, and students then invited 10 semi-finalists for interviews held earlier this month. The committee narrowed the field to four.
