Several Egg Hunts planned for Saturday

Mount Shasta Elks Lodge No. 2333 has scheduled its 41st annual Easter Egg Hunt for this Saturday, April 19 beginning at 10 a.m. at both the Dunsmuir City Park and Mount Shasta City Park. The event is for children through age 10.

The Elks thank the local communities for their past generosity and are currently asking for donations to help defray the cost of the hunt.

The Elks Lodge buys and stuffs the plastic eggs and purchases approximately $1,000 in candy and prizes to be given out the day of the Easter Egg Hunt.

Tax deductible donations can be mailed to Mount Shasta Elks, 326 N. Mt. Shasta Blvd., Mount Shasta, CA 96067-2283; or for donation pick-up call the Elks office at 926-2138.


Shasta View Nursing Center’s 6th annual Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for this Saturday, April 19 at 445 Park Street in Weed. Activities begin at 11 a.m.; the hunt will begin promptly at 1 p.m.

Games include basketball hoop, kids fishing game, and bean bag toss.

Special prizes will be awarded for finding the “Special Eggs.” There will be different areas depending upon age of children.

Treats include cotton candy, ice cream and snow cones. McDonald’s will provide Happy Meal gift certificates on a first-come, first-served basis.

Jumbo hotdogs, chips and drink will be offered. Cost is $2.

Lake Shastina

The Lake Shastina Community Services District will host a community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19 beginning at 10 a.m. at Hoy Park.
