Notice To Bid: RFP for removal and replacement of Dunsmuir Community Park stage

PUBLIC NOTICE - REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR THE REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF AN OUTDOOR STAGE AT THE DUNSMUIR COMMUNITY PARK - NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the DUNSMUIR RECREATION AND PARKS DISTRICT AND THE DUNSMUIR BOTANICAL GARDENS will receive bids for the project by Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens. The project will be funded by a private donation from the Botanical Gardens. The new outdoor stage is as described in the Plans and Details with the exception of Handrail and Guardrail which will be done by others after the completion of the stage and ADA ramp project. Bid packets are available at the Dunsmuir Chamber of Commerce by appointment (call 530-235-2177). The project consists of the following; Removal of the existing wooden stage preserving the existing wooden guardrail and posts for use elsewhere. The new stage consists of over excavation for concrete foundation and CMU retaining walls with a roof deck pan and concrete slab. Also included is an ADA accessible concrete ramp from the parking area to the stage not including guard railing. Bids will be accepted for this portion of the project only. The Project is located at the City Park in Dunsmuir, California. Copies of the Contract Documents, including Plans and Details, are now on file at the Dunsmuir Recreation and Parks District office, 4841 Dunsmuir Avenue, and the same may be examined and copies obtained from Schlumpberger Consulting Engineers located at 624 S. Mt. Shasta Blvd., Mt. Shasta (530)926-2605, or the Dunsmuir Chamber of Commerce, upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit of $50.00 for plans and details if picked up, or they can be emailed, at no charge on request at The site and facilities are available for pre-bid review by appointment with Dunsmuir Recreation and Parks. Sealed bids will be received at the Dunsmuir Recreation and Parks office at 4841 Dunsmuir Avenue, Dunsmuir, California from 9AM until 12:00 noon on Wednesday and Thursday, March 7 & 8, 2018. Bids received after that time may not be accepted. Bids will be opened and read out loud in public at 1:00 PM on Thursday March 8, 2018 at the Dunsmuir Recreation and Parks office at 4841 Dunsmuir Avenue, Dunsmuir, California. Each Bid shall be lump sum only. No Bid will be accepted from a contractor who does not hold a Class B license in accordance with the provisions of Section 3300 of the California Public Contract Code and have bonding and insurance. This is a not a publicly funded project and not under prevailing wage requirements. All contractors and subcontractors will be required to provide adequate bonding and insurance per project bid and City code requirements before award of contract.
