California Assemblyman Brian Dahle visited Yreka on Saturday, March 2 and spoke with constituents at Poor George’s restaurant about his candidacy for the California State Senate.

Dahle said, “I want to be effective for my community.” He talked about trying to get legislators out to forests to discuss forest management. He advocates thinning forests, “bringing jobs back to our communities,” and making communities fire safe.

Dahle mentioned that he and his wife have children enrolled in public school, and said he is “frustrated” with current school curriculum. He also spoke against a $15 minimum wage in California, saying that workers should have more experience if they want to be paid that kind of wage
