The Siskiyou Golden Fair is excited to bring back the popular “Read to Win” program for Siskiyou County kindergarten through eighth grade students this year.

Participants that complete the program will receive six tickets for Paul Maurer Shows carnival rides. Fair admission is not included but 6 and under are free every day. Kids 12 and under are free on Thursday, American Ag Credit kids day and everyone is free on Sunday KTVL Family Day.

Siskiyou County students in grades kindergarten through fifth must read for 20 minutes each day and sixth through eighth graders must read for 30 minutes per day for 20 days and have it documented by a parent or guardian.

Children in kindergarten through third grade will need to draw a picture depicting one of the stories read and fourth through eighth graders will need a one page book report on one of the stories, typed and double spaced to receive the prize tickets.

The program will begin June 10 and end on the opening day of the fair, which is August 7. The official form and accompanying documents must be turned in during the 2019 fair to receive the tickets.

The official verification form is available on the fair web page and accessing The Annual Fair/Miscellaneous Forms/Read to Win. The program only allows for one set of prize tickets per student.
