Workshop teaches how to avoid ‘burnout’
Dr. Ernie Mendes will present a training on Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Miner’s Inn Convention Center, located at 122 E. Miner Street, Yreka.
“Bringing Out the Best in Yourself and Others,” will show help participants learn goals and objectives that help understand the connection between emotion research and ‘burnout’ for those working in human service professions.
Participants will learn techniques for identifying and regulating emotional states in adults and children, the use of gratitude strategies and happiness research to increase well-being, and mindfulness practices.
This course meets the qualifications for six hours of continuing education credit for LCSWs and LMFTs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Ernie Mendes, Ph.D., has a diverse background that includes experience teaching, as a licensed pyschotherapist, an executive coach, anda professional development trainer. He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology and was one of the first to do a doctoral study on Emotional Intelligence.
