Coronavirus live updates: What we know Wednesday about COVID-19 in North State

Shasta County's COVID-19 case total rose to 47 on Tuesday following the announcement of one additional patient. The latest positive test comes from a man in his 60s who showed no symptoms of the virus, according to the county's Health and Human Services Agency.

As of Tuesday evening, a total of 6,003 coronavirus tests have been conducted for Shasta County. One county resident is currently hospitalized in connection to the virus, according to HHSA.

County officials in a news release also warned against mass gatherings, stating they pose an "especially high danger" of transmission.

To the north, Siskiyou County reported two more coronavirus cases on Tuesday, bringing its total to 14 since the outbreak began. County officials there report that a total of 2,114 tests have come back with results.
