Harbor Freight Tools had its soft opening on Thursday, but the new store's grand opening for customers who are looking for hand tools and other equipment won't be until Oct 16.

The Yreka store is in the Yreka Junction Shopping Center near Raley's and Dollar Tree, at 1834 Fort Jones Road. The store is Harbor Freight Tool's 124th location in California.

The Yreka Junction mall has been undergoing some transformation. Goodwill opened there on Sept. 23, at the spot that previously housed JCPenney.  A portion of the new Harbor Freight location used to be a Subway and Payless Shoes.

The new store would bring approximately 25-30 new jobs to the area, Harbor Freight Tools spokesperson Lisa Hartley said in a statement released by the company.

“We’re ready to serve and deliver value to customers in Yreka and all of Siskiyou County,” the statement quoted Yreka store manager Ryan Bonillas as saying.
