Sheriff's Department asking public's help in search for missing Happy Camp man, 76

The Siskiyou County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in finding a 76-year-old man missing from the Happy Camp area since Saturday evening. 

The Sheriff's Department reported that James Eugene Sharpe of Happy Camp was last seen on Saturday, Oct. 9, around 9 p.m., going westbound on China Grade Rd. in Happy Camp.

Sharpe was wearing a grey hat, brown flannel shirt, white T-shirt and blue jeans. He has grey hair and a beard.  He is a around 6 feet tall and 200 pounds with green eyes, The sheriff's office said it is believed he may have been walking to town. 

Kelly Giordano, public information officer for the SCSO, said on Monday morning that at this time, it does not appear the disappearance is suspicious.

Anyone with information on the disappearance of Sharpe is asked to call the sheriff's department at 530-842-8300.
